Application of Lean in services
See how Lean helps uncover hidden losses in the service sector
Course description
This interactive course introduces participants to practical Lean principles for service and retail environments, focusing on how to improve efficiency, quality, and customer experience without costly expansion.
Through clear explanations and real-world examples, learners explore tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, and Pull Flow, and see how they can be applied to streamline operations and reduce waste. We will review several real case studies in the finance sector, healthcare, and even take a sneak peak at the Lean Bakery in Barcelona.
A highlight of the course is an engaging role-playing simulation, where participants take on different roles to identify inefficiencies, test improvements, and experience the impact of Lean changes first-hand. By the end, attendees will have the skills and confidence to apply Lean thinking in their own organizations.

What is Lean
Lean is a philosophy and methodology for maximizing value and minimizing waste in production processes. It was originally developed by Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan in the 1950s and has since been adopted by many organizations around the world in various industries. The goal of Lean is to create more value for customers with fewer resources, which is achieved by eliminating non-value-added activities and streamlining processes. This is achieved by focusing on identifying and eliminating waste, improving process flow, creating a culture of continuous improvement and empowering employees to make improvements. By applying Lean principles, organizations can increase efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality, and increase customer satisfaction. Lean can be applied in a variety of environments, including manufacturing, healthcare, service industries, and government.
