Course description
A process map is a planning and management tool that visually describes a workflow. Process maps show a series of events that lead to an end result. It shows who and what is involved in a process and can be used in any business or organization.
Process maps use standard symbols to visualize work steps, decision making, and process delays.
There are many different types of process maps, which carry different levels of detail and can relate to the present or future state of your processes; they can also contain detailed information about the departments in the organization that perform certain steps. Different types of process maps are used in different contexts and for specific purposes. Some of them include the movement of information and materials within the organization.
The process map is a key tool for identifying waste and unnecessary activities in the workflow, based on which improvements can be made in the workflow.
