Course description

A3 is a structured approach to problem solving and continuous improvement first used at Toyota and commonly used by Lean practitioners. It provides a simple and rigorous procedure that guides employees in problem solving. The A3 methodology is a powerful tool for discovering the root causes of problems in an organization, focusing process improvement efforts in the right direction.

Kaizen embodies the philosophy of continuous improvement. It is also a tool that enables employees’ development: employees learn effective teamwork, to conduct meetings and overcome problems using problem-solving techniques. Kaizen ideology focuses on looking at any situation or process with a “how can this be improved” perspective. In this way, a culture of seeking and effectively resolving all problems is built in the organization, where problems are considered treasures. Employees are empowered and learn to self-organize and take into their own hands the responsibility for the processes they operate on a daily basis

For this reason, A3 and Kaizen combined provide a powerful problem-solving and continuous improvement methodology for any organization
